Monica Tan

Director of Marketing

Monica joined JFS in 2012 after moving to Albany from Chicago, where she worked at Jewish Child & Family Services for 17 year, serving multiple roles. She began as a clinician working with children and families, transitioned to writing grants, became the assistant director of clinical practice development to coordinate clinical staff in-service and community-wide conferences, and was promoted to Director of Marketing. Monica began her career in advertising, where she served in multiple roles, most recently account executive on a variety of national and regional brands, including Pepsi, Baker’s Square and Bob Evans. She has brought her skills and creativity from advertising, along with her clinical experience and self-taught graphic design to work in the non-profit world.

Monica earned her Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Marketing from California State University Northridge. When she’s not at work, she enjoys cooking, live music, volunteering (most recently Caffe Lena and the MoonCatcher Project), and teaching her old dog new tricks.
