Clara Simon, MSW

Senior Resource Network Specialist

Clara joined the JFS staff in early 2020, after serving on the Board of Directors of JFS for ten years. She is passionate about working in the field of aging and has spent many years providing connection and Jewish programming to residents of area long-term care facilities as well as older people living in the community. Clara has worked as an educator of children at Maimonides Hebrew Day School, and of adults through the activities of Bethlehem and Delmar Chabad. She also directed Camp Gan Israel and organized many women’s programs for the Jewish Women’s Connection of the Capital District She is the co-director of the Chabad House of Delmar.

Clara received her Master’s in Social Work from the SUNY School of Social Welfare and her Bachelor’s in Community and Human Services from Empire State College. She and her husband have raised a large family and are now busy figuring out how to stay in touch and involved in the lives of their many grandchildren. Clara enjoys meeting and engaging with people, walking in nature, playing the recorder, learning new languages and is curious about most things.
