The Albany Police Department recently re-aligned the Neighborhood Engagement Unit (NEU) to more efficiently serve our community. The newly implemented NEU consists of neighborhood beat officers who work collaboratively with uniformed patrol officers through a “Team Policing” concept to solve problems, enhance quality of life and build meaningful relationships with members of the community. Join us for a discussion with our Neighborhood Engagement Officers to see how they are ensuring the safety of the city residents.

PURPOSE To direct clinical services department of JFS; to offer responsive and innovative social work interventions supporting individuals of all ages and families with life’s challenges and transitions.
Responsibilities:
Direct clinical services department of JFS
Provide leadership and supervision to clinical staff and interns
Provide counseling, case management and information/referrals to individuals and families, including Jewish elders and their families
Be reasonably available for client emergencies.
Collaborate with existing community resources
Work with Finance Director and President & CEO to manage billing service and policies, program development, fiscal budget and performance improvement
Qualifications:
Master’s or Doctorate in Social Work, Psychology or Mental Health Counseling,
Licensed to practice in New York (LCSW-R preferred; RN, LCSW, LMHC, LMSW, PhD or PsyD considered)
Management experience with telehealth
Minimum of five years of experience in the field
Two years minimum supervisory experience
Familiarity with Greater Capital District Jewish Community a plus, not required
Able to work flexible hours, including potential for some evenings
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate well with team members, outside agencies and service providers
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Valid NY driver’s license, reliable vehicle
Willing to learn new software for recordkeeping and billing

Part-time driver(s) sought to support Jewish Family Services of Northeastern New York Project 5 program. Inspired by the 5th Commandment, honor thy father and mother, Project 5 provides rides throughout the Capital Region for Jewish seniors who are no longer able to drive or have limited driving capabilities, but are able to walk, or use a cane or walker. Candidates must be patient, compassionate, understanding and appreciate needs of older adults.
Private rides will be to religious services or events, cultural and social events, shopping and errands and occasionally medical and dental appointments. This is the perfect part-time position for someone who loves seniors, wants their work to be meaningful, and enjoy having extra income.
Drivers will be trained by Jewish Family Services staff and will be expected to provide weekly reports to the program coordinator including mileage, time records, and passenger updates. Drivers will be reimbursed for mileage, time driving, and insurance umbrella policy. Hours per week will vary but expected hours are Fridays, 4-8 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. This is not an on-call service. Seniors will schedule their rides in advance.
Requirements include:
Valid Valid driver’s license
Valid automobile insurance policy
Valid automobile registration
Excellent communication skills
Interest in providing services to older adults
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and outside agencies and service providers

We will discuss how to resume social interaction and at the same time, keep risk for infection as low as possible. Good health in any season begins with good information and proactive planning.
