Let’s Talk About…Albany Takes a Field Trip to Thacher Park

In the past year, many of the Let’s Talk About…Albany group members reminisced about visiting Thacher Park as a child. This month, we are taking a field trip to the beautiful new Visitor Center at Thacher State Park. Park staff will talk about the park’s cultural history and geology, and they will discuss important habitats and species the park protects. Join us on Thursday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m. at 830 Thacher Park Rd, Voorheesville.
Stop by the park’s overlook on your way or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy before the program. Marla Gornstein and Jen Ward will be at the Visitor Center at noon if you want to join us for lunch. There is a $6.00 fee to park at the Visitor Center. (If you are over the age of 62, please present your driver’s license and the parking fee is waived.)
Please RSVP to NNORC at 518-514-2023. Please let us know if you are interested, but need help with transportation.
Save the date for the next Let’s Talk About…Albany. We’re back at APL’s Bach Branch on Thursday, October 24, for a presentation on the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.
