It's a Vaccine Doubleheader: Learn about vaccines and get the flu shot

Game #1 – Learn about vaccines

The onset of fall signals the beginning of the flu season. But it’s also a time for shingles and pneumonia, both of which can take you out action.
Should you get the flu shot? Should you get vaccinated for shingles or pneumonia? Can you safely do all three?
Join us for the October NNORC Breakfast Club, where speaker Mary Brummagyn, SPRN, will shed light on the latest vaccine information for adults and seniors. Mary coordinates the Immunization Program at the Albany County Department of Health. She is extremely committed to sharing accurate information about immunizations with adults, especially seniors.
DATE Wednesday, October 14, 2015
TIME 9:30–11:00 a.m.
PLACE Albany JCC, 340 Whitehall Rd, Albany
RSVP Reservations required. Call NNORC at 514-2023 to reserve your seat and your bagel.

Game #2 – Get the flu vaccine

The Albany NNORC is teaming up with Price Chopper pharmacists to offer seniors a flu shot clinic.
Getting vaccinated is especially important for people who are older than 65, or who have diabetes or asthma. Price Chopper carries the quadrivalent vaccine, which covers four strains of the flu instead of just three. They also offer a high dose shot that provides better protection for seniors.
Reduce your risk of contracting the flu and come and get vaccinated!
