Celebrate Older Americans Month in May

May is Older Americans Month, a time to appreciate the contributions of older Americans to our communities and country. NNORC is partnering with the Bach Library to offer a special program. Please join us on to explore the symbols of America along the magnificent Hudson River. Historian Marvin Bubie will take us back in time as he introduces us to symbols from Dutch colonial times through the Revolution and the industrialization of the Hudson River Valley. Bubie is author of “Celebrating the Revolutionary War: Municipal Symbols of a Free Country.” A native of Averill Park and a graduate of Averill Park High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Bubie is retired from General Electric, having also lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Georgia. This fascinating talk will be followed by light refreshments. Please come and enjoy.
