Be Smart, Stay Safe with a Fall Prevention Workshop

Be Smart, Stay Safe with a Fall Prevention Workshop
Being mobile and steady in your home or out in the neighborhood is vital to living a happy, healthy, independent life. Join us at Maria College for this fun and informational workshop on Fall Prevention.
In this workshop we will:

  • Explore ways to stay safe AND continue to be active and independent.
  • Share ideas with others about our beliefs, fears and concerns about falls.
  • Practice a sequence of exercises designed to build the strength, balance and
    flexibility important to fall prevention.

If you have already taken the three-part workshop offered last fall, this is a great refresher! Didn’t take the workshop? No worries—this “mini” version will give you tools for Fall Prevention you can use every day.
Staff and occupational therapy assistant students from NNORC and Maria College will be on hand to help you make the most of this two-hour session.
Presenters:  Scott L. Homer, MS, OTR/L, Director Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, Maria College and Judi England, RN, LMT, Kripalu Yoga Instructor, Senior Health Education Coordinator for NNORC.
