Announcing the New NNORC Book Discussion Group

October 3, 2019

Events, Homepage

If you’re looking to expand your reading repertoire, meet some like-minded people, have some fun, and stimulate some brain cells along the way, this is the group for you.

Join us on Monday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church (440 Whitehall Rd, Albany) for a “meet and greet” tea and conversation about the format of the group. Participants will have the opportunity to talk about their previous book discussion group experiences, if any, and offer input on what it takes to create and sustain a successful reading group. Bach Branch librarian Jen Ward will be joining us, as well, to share her expertise in guiding groups. We will also brainstorm a name for our group, so come with your clever thinking caps on! Copies of the first book will be distributed at the conclusion of the meeting in your preferred format (regular or large print, or audiobook on CDs), so please bring your library card. If you don’t have a card, one can be issued at the meeting. Simply bring a photo ID and a business envelope that was recently delivered to your home as proof of identity and residence. Call NNORC at 518-514-2023 to register. Come “check us out!”
