There is a place you can turn to for help.

Jewish Family Services’ Center for Visitation and Family Services.

JFS’ staff of professional, certified social workers provide a full range of counseling options in a secular setting.

Individual Counseling:
One-on-one sessions help individuals tackle such issues as stress and anxiety, interpersonal conflicts, life stressors, depression, post traumatic stress disorder and managing behaviors to maintain recovery.

Family Counseling:
For parents and their children, partners, and significant others, the goal of JFS’ family counseling services is to strengthen the families and help them meet their changing needs.

Working with the Family Courts of both Albany and Rensselaer Counties, JFS’ Supervised Visitation Service provides a dignified, relaxed atmosphere for non-custodial parents to see their children. The Service provides counseling and parenting skills sessions for the non-custodial parent with the ultimate goal being unsupervised visitation as recommended by the family court. Additionally, parenting sessions are conducted for custodial parents to help them build a positive framework for the best interests of their children.

Anger Management:
Anger can rip apart relationships, families, work situations and everyday life. JFS’ Anger Management classes provide innovative techniques to deal with the trying and difficult situations that confront parents and people on the job.

Fees for JFS’ Counseling Services are structured on a sliding scale based on an individual’s ability to pay.
